PC-Fireshield® PP 250
Non-setting silicone polymer-based ablative putty
PC-Fire shield® PP 250 is a versatile and reusable putty designed to maintain fire resistance in compartment walls and floors. This putty remains pliable and does not set, making it ideal for sealing openings created for building service penetrations within gypsum drywalls. In the event of a fire, PC-Fire shield® PP 250, in conjunction with forms a robust barrier that chars under heat, effectively preventing the passage of flames and hot gases through these apertures. Furthermore, it aids in restricting temperature rise on the non-fire side of the structure. This product has undergone extensive testing and certification for use with single or bundled cables, including Cat5e network cables of up to 90mm in diameter, requiring only a 20mm application. Additionally, PC-Fire shield® PP 250, at a thickness of 3.5mm, are available for sealing electrical socket boxes in Gypsum Drywalls.
PC-Fire shield® PP 250 have been subjected to independent testing and certification across a range of cables and configurations. These products are applicable for installation in concrete walls and floors, and they effectively reinstate the fire resistance of Gypsum Drywalls with electrical socket box placements.
A. ELECTRICAL CABLES
Sealing electrical cables and data cable bundles with sealant allows achieving fire resistance ratings of 120 minutes for integrity and insulation in concrete floors. In concrete walls, integrity can be maintained at 120 minutes and insulation at 90 minutes.
NOTE: backing material for all installations is min 50kg mineral fibre packed into
void around cables.
B. PENETRATION SEALS
When used to seal penetrations through concrete walls, floors, and gypsum drywalls, this fire-resistant solution offers 120 minutes of both insulation and integrity. It is designed to accommodate single electrical cables, cable bundles, insulated steel pipes up to 152mm in diameter, copper pipes up to 108mm in diameter, and loaded cable trays up to 450mm wide.
C. ELECTRICAL SOCKET BOXES IN GYPSUM DRYWALL
120/120 minutes of fire resistance (integrity & insulation) are achieved when installed inside socket boxes. When positioned behind socket boxes within the thickness of Gypsum Drywall, a fire resistance of 90/90 minutes (integrity & insulation) is maintained.
